Is there any difference between the 8.8 explorer rear ends and the 8.8 mustang rears. Internals i mean, i'm sure there differents lengths and that good shit, i'm talking carrier and gears.

How much HP can they take. I want to hear from someone that is running an 8.8 and is good into the 10's maybe even has dipped in the 9's.

i think the explorer 8.8 has more spines on the axles than the mustang

The 8.8 has the reputation of being just slightly weaker than a Ford 9". If you are inquiring about putting it in your car, I would say go for it. It has a large aftermarket available with it that will allow you to do whatever you need to, unless your going to setup something that is really brutal.

I don't plan on installing one in my car..i just did the rear in it over the summer so it should hold up to what ever i throw at it. I have been looking at a new project, something to play with this year (when time permits) and the rearend out of an explorer will fit right in and there alot stronger than the stock 7 5/8 GM rears. Just a thought going through my head.

I already made a deal for this vehicle so i should be able to tow it home with in the next couple weeks.
