I have a 78 Olds Culass (G-Body) and want to swap to a Ford 9". Are there Fords that fit better, maybe no tube cutting? Anyone in the Marinette area that can convert the housing, has jig for bracket mounting? And how do I identify limited slip, don't want open diff? I want to get the power to the ground without breaking stuff. :help:

older ford broncos are narrow, will fit. Talk to Don, he has one all ready to go, make him an offer...

I need to go the low budget way. I may even try attaching brackets my self. A friend has a 9" I an get cheep but it is out of a truck. I don't know all the specs on it yet.

all 9 inch truck rearends are too wide. An older mustang 9 inch would probably be right in width but good luck finding one and most midsizes were too wide. In the end your probably better off buying a complete aftermarket housing and putting a used center section in it

you can bolt in a 73-77 a body rear, 8.5", cheap and plenty strong, all you will need to do is cut yoru driveshaft 1".
