Hello to all, just looking for some advice,me and my buddy are running a 78 malibu and trying to hook it up,we ran last week and ran a 12.00 flat,we'd like to bust into the elevens and are looking for some tips on chassis setup,as of right now this is what we're running---

Tubular up control arms-with moroso trick springs, and 90/10 shocks up front

right now its got a 7.5 10 bolt with 4:56 gears, hotchikis control bars and stock coil springs, and 50/50 valve drag shocks

phoeinix 28.5/9 drag slicks on weld pro star wheels,

turbo 350 trans/3500 stall

and a built 383 stroker motor

any and all advice is appreciated,we're new to the drag racing game and trying to get the best performance out of the equipment as possible thanks alot guys!!!!!--Dan :rockon1:

change the tires 27"if your only running motor and dont mide rpms 26"et drags (and try to shoot for a -4 pinion angle) and if your bars are not adjustables i have a way for you to get the angle with out the bars! let me know!

you should have a bump stop just above the rearend center section, move that down closer so when your rearend squats it hits that, youll feel the tires plant, it works like the old school pinion snubbers.

mine squats, and when the snubber hits, you feel the tires being planted. What worked for me might not work for anyone else, it was an idea.

1 bad 44poo i did not ask you for your opion! and it is not a hack job its a cheap way for guys that have to resort to low buget fixes! whats the diffrence if you cut and weld on lower mounts or you make the top ecentric and move the angel that way? and-4 works fine on mine not all of us make 1200000000000000hp and go -2.5 to keep the frount down!some just need a good plant! like you need to plate your opion of me as a hilbilly up your as2!dickgo hang out with tuff and start drama on that site!

1. i dont hang out with tuff so dont even start that crap

2. the way u were telling the guy 2 adjust piniion angle is the most hacked way of doing it whether u like hearing it or not. so now u can politely go phuck yourself

thats cool if that setup works on your car i was stating that 99 percent of g bodyas set up for drag racing produce seperation instead of sqaut more than likely yours sqauts because of your shocks

Squating suspension unloads the tires on any car. If you think your car works with a squating suspension, it will really work when the chassis is set up correctly.

when it hits the snubber it's shocking the tires, your probably just not making enough power to notice it YET.

I have had good results from no hop bars {upper control arm relocation} and a air bag in the right rear coil spring :hehe:

I made these 3" lowering plates for under 10.00, lowers the control arm angle allowing more force on the tires. Havent tested them yet, but it feels like they should work.
