We buttoned her up tonight and test drove it. First thing we noticed was it revs way quicker with the automatic. Much more responsive than the 5 speed. I am willing to bet this car will 60ft better with the C4. Even without the transbrake it launches hard. It shifts hard and fast. I am very happy with it. I need to adjust the bands but not sure how to. We had a little mishap of the back tires locking up on our road trip. I am thinking that has something to do with the band adjustment. I torqued them to 10 ft lbs and backed them off 3/4 turn like I have read in books and on the internet. Set like that you could not turn the rear tires by hand or push the car. So I backed them off a bit so you can turn the tires by hand. The car is still hard to push though. I am thinking that this caused the tires to lock up on our cruise. It only did it once. Other than that the car runs awesome with the new transmission. :shft:
Transbrakes RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rockon1:
i'm still waiting for my trans to die.............then i will go with something like that. until then i'm still foot brake'n it. :D :D

You will have to drive this car so you can see what a transbrake is like. I will guarantee that you will be tearing your car apart after you drive it!!!!!
All I have to say is 5 speeds are for rookies!!!!!!!
I had doubts about an automatic because I love 5 speeds, but automatics is where its at. :bna

Hey, I just bought a tremec. I guess I don't know what I'm doing.:D For racing I wouldn't mind an auto, but a 5 speed is more fun on the street, and it's a street car, so I need my overdrive.:spinem:

HAHAHA Mike............That is what Eric said too (a 5 speed is more fun on the street). Drive an automatic car with a good converter and a transbrake manual valve body. You will change your mind about automatics not being fun. I do like T5s though. I love making runs down curvy country roads pounding gears and carving corners.

soon........we need to put the trans cooler somewhere else because the transmission is running too hot, around 200 degrees. The transcooler isn't getting enough airflow. The stall is a bit on the low side but it will work for now. On the transbrake in only stalls about 2900-3000 rpm. It needs to be in the 4500 rpm range.
