It won't shift

:eeeek: Here's the deal. My tranny won't shift from 1st to 2nd if I'm gettin on it. If I let up it will shift but, then I lose power as it starts to build for the next shift from 2nd to Drive. If I let up it will shift into Drive but, then the car acts like it wants to shut off. Fuel delivery problem. :dunno: Now this is the really WEIRD thing. :werd: If I manually go through the gears it just keeps winding out. It won't shift at all. I've never run into this before so I'm at a loss. :(: Simply put HELP!!!!!!!!!! :help: Any info would be awesome. :rockon1:

79 malibu that has a 355 and th350 with a shift kit.

I had the same unusual problem with my car when I had a TH-350 in it. It wouldnt shift into 3rd gear under full throttle.......but part throttle it shifted fine.
It was either the tranny or the converter, never did fiqure it out. Pulled them bith out and replaced them with a TH-400 and new converter.
The TH-350 is still sitting in my garage.....I assumed it was a internal transmission leak?

Funny thing is I see you are from Green Bay, That is where I had my TH-350 done.....at East Side transmission. Big tranny shop with a tranny dyno.

3 things can cause shifting problems in a TH 350 defective governer {stuck or the drive gear is damaged }
TV cable stuck or misadjusted {throttle cable to tranny}
defective vacuum modulator and or vacuum leak .

or I suppose it could be just taking a crap on ya :wall:

Had this happen on a th 350 and a 400. Easy fix hope thats all it is.
