1992 ford f-350 2-wd 460 V-8
tranny slips in the drive position taking off ,but if you put the selector in 1st or second it takes off fine and you can then put it in drive and it works normal as long as you are moving .(come to a stop and you have to shift it to 1st or second to get movin)
what should I look for as far as problems inside this tranny {I have not rebuilt one of these before }

Anywhoo if anyone has a good one of these they want to get rid of let me know . :D

That should be a E4OD trans.Make sure you dont have any codes first.I dont have any good ones but if that one needs a rebuild i can do that.

I'll check the codes with my scanner and go from there thanks Dude !
I have rebuilt many chrysler, GM , and ford C-4 C-6 tranny's but never a EOAD ford . {do they suck as much as a 700r4 LOL!!!} do I need any special tools ? I have quite a bit of the GM and chrysler crap RE: seal and bearing drivers .
does the ford tranny have the solid teflon rings like the 700r4 ?
any whoo I'm just tryin to help out a young kid who has a nice florida 1 ton truck to haul his race bikes with but his tranny is taking a crap on him . :rockon1:

Yes there some special tools needed to disassemble the trans and reassemble.
