View Full Version : 9 inch spool ?
Would this spool hold up in drag car with a stick shift? Or should I go with the spool from summitt.

Mark I'd spend the money once and get 33 or 35 spline. You know your only going to throw more power at it and go faster eventually. Do you already have 31 spline axles? If so then I guess it would be better to just spool what you have. I would think it would hold up just fine.......for now.

Just from my experience, the lightweigh spools tend to crack and break apart. I woudl use one from Summit racing.

You may have one, but I bet its not an ebay deal and steal one. I used one on an off road vehicle that didn;t have all that much power and I split it in pieces after 15-20 minutes.
Thanks for the input. I have 31 spline moser axles allready, so upgrading to 35 spline this year is not in the budget. This same place has a 31 spline drag race spool I am going to give them a call on monday and see what they recomend.

I have a Mark Williams lightweight spool. It has a bunch of funky holes in it. :D
