two questions

first is... how can i find out what gears my car has???? ... 351, c4, 275/40/17 rear tires, spins about 2500-2600 rpms at 55 mph and 2k rpms at 45 mph

second question, after driving for 45 min or so the trans seems to slip alittle bit in 1st gear when i take off but once i get to about 1300 rpms it works fine and my shifts get softer, any other time when its cold or before that 45 min time slot it works great shifts firm enough to burn tires on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift.. any thoughts??? it does have a fairly large trans cooler on it, Maybe the fliud is in dire need of a change? fliter clogged?? what?

mark your tire & drive shaft. then turn the rear wheel 1 complete turn & count how many revs the drive shaft made.
3.73's = about 3 & 3/4 turns
4.10's = just over 4 turns......get it?

i would do fluid and filter change throw a can of lucas in to be safe

I'd guess 3.55

and the tranny question... definitely try to change the fluid, or better would be to get a flush...

well this is the least of my worrys..i been over at must85s house lately and his starter curse passed on to me as of right now 1:07 pm july 6th my car is in a nice 6 inch wheel stand.... in the driveway on jack stands with the starter layin on the ground next to it (mother F************!!! cars)... should be finxed today just waiting for the part
