Say somone was in the process of putting a big block in the box of a little truck (hush hush) how would somone set up the drive shaft? would it be easier to go direct from the tranny to the rear and make swivling motor mounts so the motor moves with rear suspension or make like a 18inch driveshaft and hope the u joints dont explode. and how much rear suspension travel deos a pure drag truck need? thanks guys

direct hook up like a dragster or wheel stander has. big rear tires = no rear suspension needed......

come to the track on a saturday bracket race and check out some of the rear engine dragsters , most of them now days have a soft tail mono shock setup with a 4 link . You might get some Ideas :hello:
BTW there is a 1937 pickup painted flat black with a rear engine , that has been showing up the last few weeks :smoker:

the rear suspended dragsters ie fourlink, swing arm etc have a drive shaft. Its short about 8 inches..... you wont have any issues with a short driveshaft. Good joints and yokes are always recommended.
Non suspended dragsters have a coupler. I wouldnt recommend it with a rigid truck.
