Transbrakes lock first and reverse to allow the engine to rev to the converters true stall speed. A transbrake is the ONLY way to find out a converters true stall speed. You need to spend the money and buy a good transbrake. I used a cheap Art Carr brake in a C4 and it pegged the temp gauge as soon as you got on the highway. A good valve body cured the problem.

i installed Mijals tranny with break in my car for the ice races and i love it so far, but my 2500 stall converter goes to 4000 at the line, is this a bad thing?

Just don't sit on the throttle for long periods of time because as the converter is slipping it is creating heat. As for the converter stretching that far, it all has to do with the torque the engine makes. If that was behind a mild small block, it would probably be lucky to see 2500. That is why converters are custom made for the vehicle/engine.

is it worth running one is it one of those things once you have one you would never go back and it shouldnt mess up the streetability of my car should it in summit there all priced about the same any recomendations personal preferances --------------its a th350

The problem with putting a brake in a th350 is it is expensive compared to th400.You would have to buy a new drum with the better roller sprag which i recommend anytime youbuild up a th350.That drum is about 300 dollars.Where you can usually find the better drum for the th400 for about 75 dollars the just change the spag for another 40 dollars. If you price out the parts new verse getting already built its about the same.I would either go with hipster or ati. Those are the peple i have hadthe best luck with.

I had a totally stock tranny with a B&M brake in my car since 1997 and finally blew the sprag out of it at the aug rsd this year.
