I'm gonna try a Pro 50 for my pile. That is the one I have heard the most positive things about.

2-3 shift was the only bad thing about the Triax?

Are you sure it isn't an issue with the transmission or misadjustment on the shifter? The Triax is one of the best T5 shifters out there. You could try a Pro 5.0 too. I've used both. My favorite shifter that I've owned was a Pro 5.0 base with a Hurst handle and the factory shift nob. Felt really good and shifted nicely.

Well, I would have said the Steeda, but since that isnt working for you, I would go with the Pro 50. I have heard nothing but good feedback on them. But before you go off and buy another shifter, try playing around with the adjustments on the shifter. Is it hanging up?? Grinding?? Or just generaly difficult to get into those gears?? If so, it could be a worn Snycro.

There must be something wrong. Thats one of the best shifters made, are you certain the stops are adjusted properly, or its not just the trans?

When I grab second it will grind not all the time but if Im really beating it... That and the 2-3 shift feels bad like ya have to really try to find 3rd. the trany also has 100,000 miles on it so it may be time for a rebuild.

Yeah, it sounds like Your syncros are getting worn.

A factory T5? That is your reason right there. Its old and wore out.

Yup. New shifters dont help worn out parts. PM Wild 89 Coupe to rebuild it for ya.
