You're not going to find much for a few hundred bucks and anything you do find for that price I can guarantee won't be road safe.....but then again people looking for cars that cheap usually don't care about road safety.

Found one for ya. 1988 Nissan 300zx Turbo "Shiro Special edition, 136K on motor, needs a clutch, slave cyl, and posssibly master cyl. 650 bucks in madison WI at a place called airport motors. 3.0 V6 turbo. Runs good, light rust on the doors, t-tops, just needs the parts listed above. new tires. would pick it up myself, but i cant spend time in my parking lot changing a clutch. Looks like it would be a fun car. Oh, has the adjustable suspention, and its "ok" on the interior...needs a good cleaning.

That thing has been for sale for a long time. If I remember right its not an actual shiro, just a white 88
Blackbird
12-14-2005, 03:24 PM
Hmm... i was under the impression thwat the shiros were the only two seatwer of that year. I could be wrong then.
00Evan
12-14-2005, 03:50 PM
shiros were a special model, all white with white wheels, had a different front spoiler. They also only had the base features, cloth interior, and had recaro seats.
Blackbird
12-14-2005, 10:52 PM
Thats what this one appears to have...unsure if the seats ae recaros...
00Evan
12-15-2005, 01:12 AM
adjustable suspension isnt a base model feature. Either it doesnt have that or isnt a shiro. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Could be then. I'll take a closer look at it today... I'm pretty new to z's, but I'd like to learn more about them...they look to be fun

Yeah let me know if you have any questions. I know them pretty well :smoker:

good deals depend on who your doing the dealing with, iam driving a geo prizm 5speed 4cyl, i got it from an old lady who's son is "a very good mechanic" they put in two batteries and three alternator's, i gave her 25 dollars for it, the tension was never adj. right soo the belt wasnt' really spinning the alt pulley, i can't believe it didnt' fly off, the kid was putting in alt.'s and not putting any tension on it, ive beat the crap out of this car, car is solid, great runner, great gas mileage, i would probally pay 750 for the car, probally sell it for 1200 or 1000
Blackbird
12-16-2005, 03:48 PM
Really.... 600 bucks huh? what does it need done to it to be reliable for the winter? I wouldnt mind picking it up.

I'd be interested in a turbo 300 Z for that price. There must be something more that needs attention for it to be that cheap?????
00Evan

Its a non turbo.

How about the one Blackbird is talking about. Is the car worth putting the money in to?

12-16-2005, 11:22 PM
Its been for sale for a while, can't remember where I saw it. Dunno what the deal is on it though. I remember seeing pictures and it was pretty rusty, maybe the white just accents it that much more.

I looked at this 300ZX personally as I have been a fan of those for some time and have owned a couple of Z31 300zx's.
The car mentioned above is quite rusty and the rear subframe body mounts are rusted through. There is quite a bit of rust underneath the car that isn;t visible unless you get underneath and really inspect it. The rear strut towers are close to being rusted through as well..
Blackbird
12-17-2005, 10:50 AM
oooo..... okay. I didnt get down in the snow that far to see all that. the body rust could be repaired, however the worst spot is the passengers side rear wheel well. Thats alwats a pain. Went to Midwest Hybrids the other day and found a 240sx that a kid had bought for...oh i think it was 300 bucks out of the bargain section of the state journal. needed a clutch. rusted trunk lid, but altogether a pretty clean car.

Midwest Hybrids, HA, is that shop still in business?
Wicked
12-17-2005, 11:31 AM
Yeah Midwest Hybrids is still in business. The owner is actually quite knowledgable, but you don;t get the impression that its a high end shop as its pretty messy in there and have strange hours. Its actually right down the road from my shop literally within walkign distance. They are on robertson road and I am at 801 Atlas drive. You have to drive on atlas to turn on robertson.
