4L60E bullshit!!

I have a 94 GMC jimmy, did a carbed v8 swap got rid of the ecu and bought a TCI trans controle unit for the 4L60E. so i loaded the software in the laptop and got the right conector and hooked it all up. so now when i have the truck running and run the software it keeps comming up TCU NOT FOUND. the laptop is recognizing that somthing is pluged into it but it isnt getting a signal from the TCU. the TCU is getting power. what i need to know is will the trans work without programming the computer( if its working) and if its not working can i drive it 2 blocks without burning the trans up? :ripped:

if the tcu isnt working the trans will default to 3rd gear

Thanks I drove it down to the mufler shop today! Im going to call TCI and se what could be wrong with it.

You will never guess what i did i forgot to load the software for the adapter cable :953: so now it runs great,lays a pritty good patch of rubber for a 305. i love the software for this trans controler easy to adjust all the peramiters and i installed the performance & econemy switch for normal driving. Sorry fore the spelling!!!!
