I have decided to get a TH350 and the 700R4 is for sale again.:argh:
Who would you recommend getting one from?
B&M - TCI - Hughes
I want to get a stout tranny and then a cheap converter for now until I build a monster motor.
Or should I get a cheap stock rebuild and add a shift kit and hope it doesn't blow up. I know my engine is pretty weak right now probably only like 250-300hp but my next one I won't be so stupid and I'll build a real engine. Probably about 12:1 355 with a big ass roller cam in it.

Talk to Brommo about getting a tranny built. He will hook you up.
I have used a TCI for the last 5 years and am happy with it. I do believe it is time for a rebuild but I definitly got my moneys worth.

Retzke finally broke his TCI 400 after what...........7 years??
His driveshaft was a little too long and it bottomed out inside.
Otherwise it might still be going.
Wow, everyone has tranny problems this year.
Me(earlier),67,retzke, also the "NO MORALS" truck from rosholt blew another one up so I heard.
don't forget Mike James. he has gone through a ton of them.

What brand converter should I get and what stall???
.040 over 350
9.7:1 CR
Comp XE 274 hydraulic flat tappet cam
274/286 advertised - 230/236@.050 - .487/.490lift
ProAction 180cc aluminum heads
RPM Air Gap dual plane intake
Holley 750 vac sec carb
New tranny will be a TH350

ordered my new stuff tonight and brought the tranny to brommo
I got the Hughes Performance converter and the B&M ProStick shifter. Also ordered a 1" 4 hole phenolic spacer and an aluminum finned deep pan for the tranny. I hope this stuff makes the blazer run better.

I'll call you on Monday to see how it is going.

I am kinda pissed at MOROSO. I got one of their 4 hole 1" thick phenolic spacers from Summit and it came with studs and nuts but no gasket. WTF don't you need one to install it? So I had to go to 3 different autoparts stores to find a single carb gasket.

tranny is finally in. Hope to get everything hooked up tomorrow, install the shifter and do the x-member mods. I couldn't work anymore today, almost got carried away by the mosquitos.LOL Been really busy, the clutch went out on the BMW so I had to get the gas tank into the truck, because it was leaking like a son of a bitch. Damn cars, you gotta love 'em.
