I personally am using a Currie 9+. Lot's of guys are running stock rears. Another one to look for is the 8.5" 10 bolt that came in later year trucks with a 4.3HO and 5 speed, but they are very hard to find. That is why I ended up getting the one I did.

how wide are they compared to the stock 7.5?
I'm running the stock 7 5/8 and have no problems at all running the times i do. Theres many guys out there running 1.6 60ft' on a stock rear. They make many aftermarket parts for those rears and they can be built to handle moderate amounts of power.
Best way to go is a Currie, DTS or Moser rear, all can be ordered to fit. The 8.5 10 bolt came in some extreme's but only with a 5 speed and 4.3 so there scarce to find. An 8.8 from an explorer will also fit with minimum work. Theres a company out of IL that sells a bolt in 9" housing for around $300. All you supply is the center section, axles and brakes.

I run a 7 5/8 in my Camaro but this thing is going to be a little more than my camaro is now I'm just a little scared to use the stock on in this one I'm just trying to explore my options are there any 8 3/4 that will fit in them? thats what i'm hoping to use.
I live in Winneconne. If you know the racers in winneconne you'll know its a big Mopar town. I work for John Esch at Leo's we have parts up the ass for 8 3/4 but i don't want to have to spend the money on axels to narrow one

S-10 Highriders and ZR-2"s also used a 8.5" rear if that helps.
