700R4 PROBLEMs

I have a feeling im going to be broke in a few days. I was in GB with my Caprice when my tach hit 5000 rpm quarter throttle. :lame: i have no third gear. 1 and 2 drove like usual but when i put it in drive or over drive when it goes for third it reves it will grab at 5000rpm though. i checked the fluid and it is greyish black. 1 and 2 are as strong as ever without any slip or nuthin. A'm I out of luck or will a new filter and a flush fix it. well thanks

grayish black fluid- i thought tranny fluid was supposed to be red. the problem is probably much worse than off color fluid i bet.

it sounds like your 3-4 clutch pack but i could be wrong i'd rebuild it and put a shift kit in it while your at it

I've had the same thing happen with a few 700R4's. Time for a rebuild.

take it to brommo...he builds killer 700R4's.
