2000 hyuandi accent 1.6 a/t, test driving it, when your going 70mph the tach is @ 2500rpms, then with out giving it any gas it will go up to about 3000, and then just come back down, not really slipping, is that a bad converter? or are the clutches going out? any thing else?

probly a normal condition with the lock up converter

soo thats fine then, normal?? it shifts hard into second, and sometimes takes longer then it should shift to second, holds out rpm's too long

there may be something going on then, possibly a bad brake switch, the converter should stay locked up until you try to accelerate more or when you push the brakes, to hard to say without driving it and watching the trans data
