View Full Version : upgrading 8.8, anybody a dealer for moser,strange,superior etc?

first off i have a 94 mustang 8.8 in my thunderbird thats all stock except 3.73 gears. i would like to step up too 31 or 33 splines with a spool and long wheel studs since i just recently stepped up to 10.5x28" slicks and i dont want to leave my rear all over the track. anybody on here a dealer that can hook me up with some good deals?? :wink:

I ordered the strange race kit. 33 spline axels,spool,c clip elim, and long studs,total was around 570.00. one thing about strange they took over a month to get my axels!

I ordered my stuff from Moser on a monday afternoon and received the goods Thursday. That was custom made axles, not just standard size replacements.

Joel, do you drive it on the street? That might play into whether you get 31 or 33 spline stuff. Reason being, differentials are expensive for 33, and spool might not be your best bet for a daily driven car.

I agree. Believe me, spools suck for driving everyday. :lame:

the car will see a small amount of street use but its not an everyday driver. i believe im going to go with a spool. are c clip eliminators necessary?? 31 or 33 splines??

I would do 33 if youre sure its gonna be a spool. I think itsw the same price. I would at least get eliminators, but 9" housing ends are really the way to go. I havent heard one good thing ever about running spools on the street. It will chew up tires if theres alot of cornering, but a track only car with a little street should be OK.
