I looking for opinions on what you think would be too much nitrous for a BBC with billet caps, o-rings with copper head gaskets and an Eagle rotating assembly (4340 crank, 4340 H-beam rods and SRP 10.2:1 pistons). Also it is a stock block. The only reason I put it in here is because I don't want opinions from idiots.

I would think 300 or so but really don't have any personal experience with nitrous Chevy engines. I'm sure 1bad442 can give a better answer.

300-400 all day long...just make sure you run 118 gas...and keep an eye on your timing.

A freind of mine will have 1300 rwhp on a stockblock BBC and he was told that is no problem.

Even with this cheap china junk? I only paid $2000. for the whole assembly including h-bearings and JE file fit rings.

I think your weak point will be piston design, rings and wrist pins. If the ring stack is too high on the piston you will have some issues when you start hitting it hard.

it will look like this... :naws:

Like I said...run 118 fuel and watch your timing. Thats the wonderful thing about a BBC :cool1:

If it dies, hopefully I can find a 502 block and make something big for cheap instead of having to buy an aftermarket block.

go for the gusto, push it to the limit, see what it can really do, use something like this, capable of 900+ additional horsepower :deal:

shane the limiting factor would be the rods because they are steel and the piston if its not a nitrous series id say u would be safe with 300 350 maybe but anything more andd your pushing it

300 will be perfectly safe shane 350 might be pushing it just because u have steel rods and it doesnt help that there eagle rods also like darrell said unless thats a nitrous piston with the ring pack pushed way down i dont think id go ver 300 because of that either :werd:

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I was going to try to shoot more, but now I'm a little gun shy seeing we still have quite a bit of time left before the car get's parked for winter. Maybe at the last RSD I'll let'er Buck and try shooting 600. The motor needs to be freshened anyway's, so if it would blow up it would be a good excuse to go 540. :woot: :newb:

The only problem would be is I'm sure your motor is not a pump gas motor, which is the whole reason I converted to a big block. I got sick of paying $4.00 per gallon to cruise. I actually drive the car quite often now that it affordable to put gas in. The part that sucks now is I put Pro Gears in after I smoke the rearend and they are already getting louder.

I wouldn't be afraid to shoot 125-150 at a stock bottom. But that's my opinion. If it were mine and seeing it's the last RSD, I'd shoot it till the rods come out. :bash:
