I just got the information on the new 5w-40 full synthetic motor oil for diesel engines. Polman Transfer in Wadena Minnesota has 56 Mac trucks and have been on schaeffers since 1998. They have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars by using oil analysis to safely achieve a fleet average oil change interval of 67,500 miles while documenting a 4.38% fuel economy increease over the synthetic brand S" oil that they tested. The best thing is the price of the new oil. $12.38 a gal in a 55 gal lot. $3.10 a quart. If any one needs help give me a call and I will get the rep to give you a call. 920-901-9777

Do you happen to know what basestock Schaeffers use?

Go under MSDS/Techinical Data. The Schaeffer site is under SCHAEFFEROIL.COM. Go to the bottom and you will find the 9000.

Found it. It says its a blend of Group III and Group IV synthetics rather than just using one synthetic basestock.

"Supreme 9000 SAE 5W-40 is blended from a unique combination of severely
hydrocracked synthetic base fluids and severely hydrofinished polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluids."
