Would the swap to a 7/16 rocker stud help out with my valve train problems? I have a set of APR studs, but no rockers. Would buying a set of 1.6 ratio Harland Sharpe Roler rockers for $200 be worth it for stability and the extra .030 lift? Right now I have 3/8 studs with Summit rollers. I am going to put a bandaid on the motor for now and just replace the one spring that the damper broke on. I can always reuse the rockers on my next motor anyway right? Are shaft mounted rocker that much better than stud mounted?

I don't know if going to a bigger stud is going to really help you much. It will be stronger and less likely to break. I would not buy Harland Sharp rockers. You can get a set of Crane rockers for the same price. Crane is a much better rocker arm. Harland Sharps are have problems holding adjustment, kind of like the problem you are having with your Summit rockers. Tick tick tick tick. You will be able to use the rockers on your next engine. Shaft mounted rockers are the ultimate but for a street motor the price is not practical.

Mine was way more than a tick tick tick. It was more of a grind grind grind. It scared Dan away from my truck when he heard it!LOL

You guys were too slow. I went to Comp today and got my new spring, some carb gaskets, some ARP thread sealer, and some Harland Sharpe 1.6 ratio rockers. It was the lifetime warranty that sold them for me. Oh well I hope they work.
