I just broke one of my roller rockers and since I think they are a cheap set I am going to go with something better. I was wondering what other people like to use, I was thinking about Harland Sharp, or Scorpion.
The motor is nothing special its a 350, .040 over stock heads and a solid roller valve train, pushing maybe 375-400 horse.

both the ones u mentioned are considered junk if u dont mind spending a little the comp cams or the crasne are good choices or if u want 2 save a little the cam dynamics are ok
I have had the same set of comp cam's ones on the last three engines i've had. Never had a problem with them.

Ive actually never heard any bad about the Scorpions, I have a set and like them. I know of quite a few "top" engine guys in the Mustang world that like them, especially with what you pay. Stay away from the Proforms and other cheapies. The other brands mentioned are top notch too, especially the Jesels.

I know you get what you pay for but we don't have your kind of money to spend $700 on rockers for a street car. :726: :kilbarne:

Sorry don't hardly watch tv, not lazy and i work enough overtime at work, i like to enjoy some of my free time. How many ppl here really need jesel rockers? In fact with all the racers we have here how many accually run them. A good set of comp ones would be just fine. Many racers use them without any problems.
i have used the same set of cranes for 5 years now with no problem, but i'm not spinning my little small block up to 9000 like dcon is.:D:D:D and mine only runs 13's not 8's.

GOTTA DISAGREE WITH U HERE THEY ARE THE BIGGEST JUNK ON THE MARKET I HAVE WORKED ON 3 SMALL BLOCKS THAT HAD THEM AND I HAD 2 CHANGE THEM OVER 2 COMPS BECAUSE THEY WERE HITTING THE RETAINERS ON THE SPRINGS PLUS THEY USE LOW GRADE MATERIALS 2 BUILD THEM

not everyone has a $15,000++ motor ( or shit loads of HP) that would require $5-6-700 rockers

The TITLE of the thread is "Which roller rockers to go with?"
All he said was it was for a 375-400 HP motor. He did not say in anyway what price range we should choose from.
Some of us are just giving our personal choices!!! There is no reason for this to get all heated up so RELAX everyone!!!!

I have the comp stainless they were about $450, well worth the money and I would buy shafts but dont want to waste the money yet until I get a set of real heads that flow some real numbers. You guys would choke if you know how shit my heads are for flow numbers. :fro: :fro: :naws:

I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER use Scorpion junk or Harland Sharp's even in a low horsepower engine. Use a Crane aluminum (silver) roller rocker or Cam Dynamics (looks identical) for hydraulic cam engines and use Crane Gold, Comp, Jessel, etc for solid roller applications. You are very limited to cam selection when running cheap rockers because they do not have enough clearance to clear larger valve springs and they will bind on the rocker stud at anything over .560 lift. Another thing to consider is cheaper rocker arms don't have a whole lot of attention to detail when they are made. Its not uncommon for rocker ratios to be way off on cheap rockers. I have had rocker arm failures, rocker stud failures and dropped valve due to cheap rockers. This is my advice based on my personal experience. Take it for what its worth.....

I had Harland Sharps on a SBC about 10 years ago..........1 rocker fell apart and bent 2 pushrods. But at the same time I know others who have ran Harland Sharps for many years without problems.
I started out with Scorpions on my BBC.......they hit the inside of the valve cover and the polylock at full lift. I had to machine the inside slots to make them work correctly.
A few years ago I switched to the Comp Cams SS rockers.......not one problem......yet.

I have crane golds, solid roller, 3yrs on the street and track with no probs.
Just buy the best you can afford when you can afford it, thats all the advice I can give. Its easier to spend an extra 50 -100 dollars now than have a pile of scrap when a disaster occurs. Stick with a major cam manufacturer.....eg. comp, crane, cam dynamics, etc these will all do what you need and won't break the bank.
