How much horsepower do you think a small block chevy steel crank can handle? after i get my valvesprings fixed im going to slap on the juice,and see what it will do. im going to keep it on the safe side till i get the tune down. i dont know what its was pushin for horsepower but i was running 7.30s at 95mph in the 1/8.:shft:

the crank is the least of your worries, youll blow a head gasket or rod/piston before the crank breaks. start with a safe 150 shot and work your way up, checking the plugs after each run. If your geared for the 1/8th mile be prepared to be shifting like a mad man when you hit the NOS.

its got 5140 i beam rods with good arp fasteners, trw 12.1 forged pistons. it had a felpro O ringed gasket, i was going to replace it with the same one.

I will try the 150 shot first. i have to get a plate made to fit my intake ,it has a 4 hole adapter that slides in the single round hole. im trying to atach a picture but it keeps showing (fatal err 30 second bla bla bla ).

whats the car built for 1/8ths, are you at redline at the finish?? If so youll want to go a gear higher in the back.

i have 4.86 gears 28inch tall tire . im at 6100 at the finish line. i shift about 7500 now.

You got nothing to worry about then...plenty of RPMs....stand on that pig make it squeel!

ya, the NOS will get you to redline easy, Im guessing with a 150 shot, mabye 6.5's at 105!!!
