I think everyone is aware that power tour is starting the following year where it ended the previous year. That means starting in GB and going somewhere. Rumor has it they are heading to FL.

Here is the challenge to all regular contributing WSD members. This event is at least 9 months away so start planning, no excuses. I will put up ANYONE(even Abot) who drives the entire tour in their hot rod while they are in FL. If I do not have room at the house I will PAY for 1 nights stay while in FL. You want to bring a tent and sleeping bag, I have plenty of room in the back yard(your responsibility to dodge fire ants though). The guys who like track time bitch about the guys who just want to enjoy their cars. Enough BS get out and enjoy the car and the friendships it creates. You like to enjoy your car, whether it is track time or car show, or a cruise through town and come here to WSD and bench race/BS/whatever else. Power tour is the same thing; prove you will drive the hot rod long distance and make new friends. I can't afford all 30-50 regularly contributing members hitting me up for 1 nights stay so I am betting few if any will take me up on this offer. PROVE ME WRONG. You have plenty of time to plan. Hopefully the dates will fall in an area that I will be able to drive up and back down with the tour. If not I will still be here waiting for you.

Been there, done that! 2004 LongHauler. My truck may not be fast, but she's built to last! 3000+ miles in 9 days, not ONE single problem. :flipoff2:

Here's some pics from the trip!

Well, if you went on this years tour, or pay attention to what happened, it is not starting in GB next year. They had so much trouble with Lambeau and how things were run that they will break from the past and are not starting there. The start point has yet to be decided, but sorry dudes, it's not going to be GB. It may not even be in Wisconsin at all. There was talk that it would be Miller Park but there's a lot of rumors.

I would think the natural place to hold the event would be Road America.

If you want to couch it's yours. Spare bedroom might be more comfortable for the first to commit.

I wish I would have made the tour this year, but with a broken arm I couldn't get the car done to make it, nor drive the car if I did. I hope to do it this coming year, but with school and work I may not be able to swing the time off, it will depend on when it falls.

Wasted do you know we have had a "run in"? I was headed down 41 going to Appleton one night in my black f150. When I got next to you and you gunned it liked you wanted to race. I just laughed thinking the ol v6 had no chance against your truck, and continued on my way. A few weeks later I saw you at the track with it, and realized it may have been interesting.

Moral of the story? You never know who or when you may run into someone you "know."

Ouch......

:fight:

That must've been last year or even longer than that. I don't take my truck to the track anymore for that exact reason.

I'm fixin' to change that though upon graduation in December :lazer:

I don't try to race people...I just like to gun it for the hell of it sometimes. I like to beat the hell out of it, since it's just a toy.

Yea I was surprised your truck was as slow as it was. At least you can say it doesn't look slow. Very sharp truck, for a chevy. :D

The only pass I made in that truck was a 17.3 I think. Spun through first and second. It had never done that before. I found out once I picked my ET slip up that the snow that was in the back of it had turned to water and made an appearance on the track. Oooooopppps! Not bad for a v6, 5 speed, 3.08 geared 28" tired 4000lb vehicle I thought. I had g-teched it in the past in the mid 16's.

I've put 66,000 miles on it since I built it frame up in '95........when I was 15 years old.
