View Full Version : Proposed Stock Suspension Race at GLD.

Here's the proposed rule's:


• Stock frame rails must remain in stock location.

• After market front suspension components allowed (must bolt-on and mount in stock mounting points)

• Rack and pinions steering allowed

• Stock rear frame rails required (notched frame OK)

• After market stock type rear suspension allowed (must bolt on)

• No rear coil-overs allowed

• No wheelie bars, four links or ladder bars allowed

• Springs may be moved in-board (relocation of rear shock allowed)

• Must have working head lights and taillights

• Must have functional charging system

• Must have stock appearing interior. Rear seat may be removed, Aftermarket Seats allowed must have 2

• No Lexan allowed

• No Lenco or clutch less transmissions allowed.

• Fiberglass limited to hood, trunk lid, and bumpers

• Single four barrel only

• No alcohol (gasoline only)

• No sheet metal intakes allowed

• Must have mufflers or muffler

• Rear tires are limited to a 10.5 slick as measured (10.75 inches) or 12.5 DOT (11 inch footprint) tires. No "W" tires allowed.

• Cars must be driven to staging lanes (no tow vehicles)

• 3000 lbs. naturally aspirated

• 3200 lbs. small block with nitrous/V6 with turbo/supercharger

• 3200 lbs. small block with turbo/supercharger w/o intercooler

• 3300 lbs. small block with turbo/supercharger with intercooler

• 3300 lbs. big block with nitrous

• 3350 lbs. big block with turbo/supercharger w/o intercooler

• 3450 lbs. big block with turbo/supercharger with intercooler

So only stock cars can race. Off the top of my head I can't think of one person on this forum with a car that would pass that tech.

Mine would pass that, but i don't think i belong with that group. I highly dought 14 second cars are allowed.

You say no alcohol, but what about alky injection on turbo'd cars?

I see some major flaws...but it all depends on the "intent" of the class. The rules are too complicated for a 10.5 class but might be made workable for a "street car" class. I'm not a big fan of rules, though.....makes things too hard to regulate.

Rules are ok, mine would fit. I think the only thing missing is license plates, keeps the "race cars" out, and keep the fast street cars in.

The date is the 25th of September, 16 car feild were trying to use the same rule's as posted before to be the one's for this race.
