Column shift to Floor shift?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before.. I've got an '03 S10 with a column shift, and there's a console on ebay out of a blazer or some other s10/s15 that has a floor shifter. Would it be overly difficult to convert it to a floor shifter? I've never ripped apart the steering column so I don't know if there's a cable in there or some metal linkage or what.. The trans is a 4l60e, I'm hoping someone on here knows more than I do :)

Don't quote me, but I think it's just a matter of disconnecting the linkage down on the trans and intalling the floor shifter as usual. I used to drive a camaro that still had the column shifter, though the lever was removed. It was also nice that you could shift the column into R, and the car wouldn't start cause the neutral saftey switch wouldn't be engaged. :dance:
