Well, just got off the phone with Dennis Moore from Moore Racecraft again.
Ordered a Holley HP universal MPFI EFI kit.
Dual sync distributor.
Injectors.
Will be sequential MPFI, individual cylinder fuel and timing control.
Integrated nitrous control for a dry system.
Will be sitting atop a Edelbrock supervictor EFI ready intake.
A little history......I built this 505ci pontiac last year.
It is an aftermarket block all forged unit.
Butler Performance race port Edelbrock heads, 10.5:1 compression,
244/248 .630 lift 112lsa comp hyd. roller cam. Morel lifters.
This is backed by a full billet 2004r trans, 9.5" edge converter, and a 12 bolt with 3.73's.......... Street car that you may see me driving at an RSD.
I estimate horsepower around 620-650, then we are going to spray 150 at it. Should put a smile on his face since the throttle has only been set up at about 3/4 travel last fall when we got it together........Time to wake it up this spring
As this progresses I'll try to get some pics up and provide feedback on the Holley EFI. I have seen some real positive results with it. Holley really stepped up the program with their new HP and Dominator Ecu's. I am real excited about the conversion and am worried I will want it on my chevelle!!

Sounds like a nice set up, I remember the pontiac motor, the nos would work good with that cam. I always thought You and I would be a good Race N/A, if you go with this same set up on your chevelle I'd have to ask for spots. BTW, what did the pontiac run?

It will be cool to see the Holley set up vs the FAST. Did you check into prices on the FAST and if so what kind of difference? Once you figure out FI you'll never want another carb.:thumbs_up

We never got the car to the track last year due to an inadequate fuel system.......I didn't want to try and run it with stock lines and tank pickup.
I had an 850 of my own on it for him for last fall. He's already scared of it last year, LOL. This is a street toy, but I may have to wring it out this year for him..........
I'd be up for an NA race I think. :nervous:

That was my thinking too, should be cool to compare the two setups. I have been in touch with a few guys running the Holley and are real happy with it.
I didn't do any real price comparisons, because the options of each setup differ and are probably a wash in the end. I figured I'd try out the new Holley stuff and see how it is.
What kind of car is it in Brian?
68 goat, been the guys car for over 30 years.

Relay panel I built for the GTO.
Starter and fuel pump relays on the left, fed with 10gauge wires, Key on ignition power, nos, and nos purge on the right. Upgraded to a CS130 alternator, 6gauge charge wire to junction block. Feeding the panel with 6gauge cable also. Eliminating as much demand on the factory wiring as possible under the hood. The stock fuseblock will be handling the interior, lighting, and supplying the switched inputs to the relay panel only. Still waiting on a gas tank and dual sync distributor.
Hopefully they show up next week. Using a Ricks Hotrod shop stainless tank with an internal A1000 pump. Hopefully I'll get some pics of the EFI parts up this weekend too.

That looks really nice Brian.
Are those crimp or soldered connectors?
Where did you get them from?

Hey Mike, they are crimped with an adhesive lined heatshrink.
Most electrical suppliers carry them......I also have MANY sizes in stock.

Looks nice Brain, are those ground posts on the fuse block? Were did you get it? I guess the wire ends were developed in the marine industry to help fight corrosion.

Yea, ground posts on top, fused terminals on bottom.
This place has a lot of useful stuff. Just that some of the stuff is real big in size such as the junction blocks and cable boots as it is designed to handle large gauge stuff. But the smaller things, fuse blocks, terminals, etc. etc. are nice stuff.

Got most everything installed, gotta order fuel lines yet. 90% of wiring done. Here are some pics of the components and a couple of installed pieces. Have to get some more pics now that it is all installed. These are a couple weeks old already!
Had to machine intake (thanks Shane) for port/bolt alignment, valve cover clearance and hood clearance. Then spent 1/2 a day port matching the intake. Removed stock external regulated alt, and regulator and converted to a 105amp late model CS130.

Got some more pics and progress. Have since finsihed up wiring, got Nitrous solenoids mounted. Ordering fuel lines today. Gotta get O2 sensor bung welded in and finish up a few small things. Tank is going back for surgery as it is hitting the tailpipes and is not set into the tank support recesses due to the clearance issue with the exhaust. The factory tank angles upward in the rear lower portion so Ricks Tanks is taking care of it. After this is finished we gotta get them wheels/tires swapped out for something different!!

That tank looks exactly like the one I got for the Nova only the fill tube is in a different location. Don't you love doing this shit multiple times? It gets old quick. LOL! Otherwise it's looking great Brian!

Fired the car yesterday....After some tweeking of the IAC and cranking fuel have it starting nicely. The driveability and response is phenomenal  The self learn really seems to work well. Using the base tables from the 650hp 496 (preconfigured tune), and then setup with all the specifics of this combo.
My only complaint is how long it cranks to start. I would think if it were not runnning sequential it might fire up quicker as the cam/crank don't have to sync?? Not really a complaint, just a fact of life I suppose.
I gave it back to the guy today and told him to drive it for a few weeks until we go over everything and transfer the learning into the base fuel.
Then We'll get into the nitrous. It is all wired and plumbed ready to go :D
The tank from Ricks Tanks, came back with the corners cut off for tailpipe clearance just as beautiful as it was the first time I unboxed it......Thanx Hector for taking care of that:thumbsup:
I forgot to get some finished pics, but I will try this weekend......It will be at a local car show.

Couple pics of the finished project.
Runs very good, gotta tune the nitrous yet. After a couple weeks of driving I will transfer the learn tables to the base fuel tables. Then make any neccesary changes and start playing with the nitrous. Weird to not have to sit in the car and babysit it on a cold start. Reach in the window and turn the key!

Looks real nice, I'd love to have that set up on a BBC and compare the diffrence from a carb. Do you feel that it was a HP gain?

Thanks! Got way more time in it than I anticipated, but it turned out pretty good. Some things I wanted to do a little differently, but sometimes a guy has to just get the shit done.
Looks real nice, I'd love to have that set up on a BBC and compare the diffrence from a carb. Do you feel that it was a HP gain?
HP gain, not really. Driveability gain, absolutely.
In this application im sure it gained HP, because the 850 carb was too small and not tuned, and the intake was too small. Now it has the correct port matched intake and 1000cfm throttle body.
If a swap was done say onto my or your car, with the same intake I just don't see much power to be had.
It is nice to change fuel, timing, etc. without picking up a wrench!!
The throttle response is excellent and so is the cold starting.
All the integration of nitrous, boost, timing control, etc. is also a huge plus for using a power adder.
