Whatever you do do not use or let anyone put a CHAMP oil filter on your engine. I have engine #5 out right now that has a CHAMP oil filter on it that has blown apart causing the filter material to plug up the oil gallies in the block.
Whatch out for those $20 oil change deals!:eeeek:

Merlins in fond du lac uses that crap along with really cheap oil..beware of their "basic oil change" service or any oil change service which includes a champ filter if they change it (corporate tells the techs to clean it and leave it if the customers arent watching)..i know, i was the store manager for awhile

Valvoline filters are exactly the same as the Champ.

Ive heard many horror stories about Fram, enough that I wont use one. I use either Napa Gold, Wix or Motorcraft filters only.

Hmmm, is that called job security??
Who uses Champ filters anyway??
Nothing but WIX built on my stuff or customers.
Will use an AC-Delco though.

I run 8-900 a week, some times more some times less. For me it fram filters and Schaeffers 5w-30 with a oil change every 10,000 miles. Silver truck the 90 has 317,000 I now use it for towing to the track and michigan US 131. The last red s-10 little 2.2 was at 287,000 and the timing chain keeper broke. This 02 with another 2.2 now has only 127,000. I have never had a problem with fram filters. ONLY if some moron blocks the filter bypass and beats it hard when its cold. I use the 10,000 mile oil change becaues its easy to remember. Rear end gets the Schaeffers 75w-90 and gets changed every 150,000 Never had a problem with a oil leak or bearings or anything. Just tow and go. Gotta love the good stuff.

I've been cutting them apart myself and they are not all created equal.

500 to 600 miles a week at the low end lol... I use 5w20 Valvoline full synthetic and Napa gold filters will normally change it every 7-10K miles... with the long drive to and from work it gets everything warmed up very well The chrysler 300 had 50K miles on it when purchased a year ago now it has just short of 120K on it with no issues and it has the RED antifreez in it to.

When I used to drive from Appleton to Schofield every dayfor work I ran Mobil 1 and Fram filters in my '94 BMW. I changed the oil every 6 weeks or so. The BMW had a drop in filter that I could not find at most autoparts stores so that's why I used Fram. Otherwise I use AC Delco, WIX or Napa.

I like the WIX filters, besides once a year they run a half off sale if you buy by the case.
