I have a question. I want to mount my fule regulator and n2o solenoids under the wiper cowl, and have the lines use bulkhead fittings to come through the metal into the engine bay. Will I get busted at tech for this? I dont see why there would be a problem, since there is still firewall between the regs, solenoids, and braided line and the passenger compartment. It would all be mounted right below the black plastic cowl, so technically there will be no lines coming through the firewall or fuel into the car. Any thoughts on this? Thanks-Dan
i think ihra rule is that any fuel reg/n20 solenoid have to be 6" off the firewall. there might be a way around that though that i'm not aware of.
That is where I had my nitrous stuff mounted last year and it passed tech at WIR. Wether they knew it was there or not I dont know, but they didn't say anything.

Well now they will be checking their after that comment.
Do you know what a PM is?
I wont have to worry about it. I am not using nitrous anymore! I know what a private message is, Do you?
they gave kevin schultz, and tim waltz a hard time about having them closer than 6 inches from the firewall. other than those two guys i haven't heard anything.

I've been given grief before about having my reg too close to the firewall...so I made a new bracket. All is well.

Mine are all gonna be hidden, the only thing you'd see is 3 braided lines coming out of the metal above the fiewall going to the carb and solenoids. I say metal, because I dont wanna say firewall because technically its above that area.
if they happen to leak ever does it have a chance to get on the windshield at all?

Dunno. I was thinking about this more, and Ive seen FP gauges mounted on the cowl, the line runs to the gauge right where the washer fluid line goes through. Mine would be at the same spot, it really wouldnt be any different than the cowl mounted gauge setup. Dunno what I'm gonna do. I'm just as concerned with how it looks as whether or not i'll pass tech. I havent spent the last year and another 6 months creating an immaculate engine bay so I can have ugly regulators laying around with fuel lines everywhere. Now that I think of it, the solenoids will mount to the plate, so all i have to deal with is 2 regulators. Guess I have some thinking to do.
