Ok got my rx-7 with the massive 1.1L rotary engine and got the performance intake and 465cfm holley carb from race beat on there. I am on a rx-7 forum were theirs a couple guys saying running my carb (which is a vacuum secondary carb) is totally wrong and wont run right being ran with mechanical secondaries?
I don't see the problem as long as they open and fuel comes out, but I don't really know jack shit about how carbs really work? I actually had the carb set up by osbornes pro street in rapids and he was the one who recommended to run mechanical, and I kinda figure he knows his shit with carbs. What do u guys think?

a holley vacuum seconary carb that people put a screw in the linkage to make it mechanical secondary's is wrong, and will not work correctly
if you tune the vacuum correctly they will work fine on there own, and they are not meant to be opened mechanically and will not fuel right that way
when he told you to run mecanical secondaries he was probly refering to a holley double pumper that comes with mechanical secondaires

That's exactly what he did and he knew what kind of carb it was casue he put it on there.Well I guess I will have to put the crap back on. I think the problem was after looking at it is the diaphragm is torn so it wouldn't hold vacuum.

put the vacuum back on, get a new diaphram and seal that goes between the carb and vacuum diaphram, and get yourself a holley spring kit so you can tune the secondaries opening rate
im not even going to say anything about who you had work on your car,, but it isnt the first time someone has paid him for nothing.
