86 in a 55 = 198.50 and 6 points, 15 mandatory suspention of license.
I heard one time long ago that if a cop is clocking he must have at least his parking lights on. Is this true? If any of you know or know someone that does can you please find out for me.
If it is true I have 4 witness's that seen the cop didn't have any lights on whatsoever.
The only other thing I can do is go in a plea bargen to have the points lowered and not have my license suspended for the 15 days.
2nd year at c & m and 2nd fine... :(:

Call a lawyer and ask his opinion.

unfortunately, all the little technicalities(sp?) out there won't get you anywhere by yourself. definitely ask a lawyer his opinion, but when i got a ticket and it was all messed up for information(the ticket was issued before i was born :) ), the lawyer just said that "99% of the times the judge won't care depending on the violation". Good luck!

Didn't say anything about the car. Only thing he said was "You comming back from the drag race's?" I said no, we were standing around talking to cops all night.

that's kinda what my thoughts were too. i would probably talk to a lawyer like everyone else said to at least get some of the points dropped off.

I guy I work with had the same thing happen, beat the ticket. As long as the cop was in the shoulder, not on private land he is "supposed" to have the parking lights on.

I think that was 2 years ago now that I got the other ticket. The was for no registration.
The cop was on the side of the road on the opisite side. He was very close to the white line. So close infact that it scared the shit out of me when I finally seen him and went past him about a foot from his door.
I have a mandatory court date anyhow. I was thinking of pleading not guilty. Because they always set up a date for you to meet with the DA than. I was going to ask the DA if they nock the points down and maybe let the 15 day suspention slide.
He was also a city cop, I didn't see any citys or towns out there.
I don't know. Court date isn't till the 17th of Sept. so I have some time.

I would tell the DA that you will plead no contest if he reduces the points and suspension. I got a ticket with the cop in the ditch once too with no parking lights on. I asked the same question to my uncle, who is an officer, and was told it didn't matter. I just paid it and got it out of the way. But for one that big I would definately try and get it reduced.
