Well, it's about time to rebuild my TH700-R4 in my '69. It's been through alot in it's 7 years since the last rebuild, and it's time to do it again before PowerTour in June.

So anyway, what is the best comprehensive rebuild kit for the 700? I want something that will keep the shifts firm, and would prefer a manual/automatic valvebody, and I would entertain a reverse valvebody. The trans is a '87 from an IROC-Z. Does anybody else have any tips on trick parts or anything for this trans. I like it because I drive the highway alot, and the lockup converter is nice.

Darrel, do you have anything in stock, or what can you get?

Basically, I want to know the best kit I should get from say Summit, or Jegs or if you know of somewhere online.

Thanks.

As far as technical shit goes with 700R4s, I don't have a clue. I can get parts for them. I would suggest calling DRC Transmissions in Elk Grove Illinois. Dean knows his shit about performance transmissions. If he can get a trans to hold up behind Tuffs wheelie monster, he can build a trans to hold up to anything! 1-847-364-5523 is his number. If you want some prices on parts, pm me a list of everything you need and we can talk.

I'm not looking to have a trans built. My uncle is a god with TurboHydramatics, so I just need parts.

I'll figure out what I need, and get ahold of you, D.
