I have spent about 5hrs trying to bleed my damn brakes. I get nothing. I have no leaks at all. I have a proportioning valve and it keeps on shuting off the fluid to the brakes. They say its a safty issue so then i have to reset the prop valve. The problem is how am i supposed to get the damn air out if the prop valve keeps on shutting the fluid off to it. I'm so pissed right now i hate working on brakes.

how is the master? try bleeding that first. i doubt its the proportioning valve, yes its possible but 9 times out of 10 it isnt that. if you do think it is that, remove it and buy a adjustable one.take the cover off your master and open up the bleeders and walk away for bout a half hour, it will gravity bleed, those pump things have never worked right to me for self bleeding.

Its the master thats been on the car for 2yrs. I just replaced the prop valve and the lines. It is the prop valve because if it senses a difference of pressure it shuts fluid off the those brakes. The problem is its always shutting the fluid off to either the front or back ones.

open up the bleeders, put some containers under them and leave it over night (check after a couple hours to see how fast they are bleeding you may not make it over night)to gravity bleed out.

Tried that didn't work.

the spring loaded plunger on the front of the proportioning valve should be pressed in while bleeding the system, if yours has one?

Okay. So if it has to be "reset", what does that involve? The push of a button or do you have to disassemble the valve? Can it be held in the open reset position while you bleed the brakes?

No button to push you have to either open all the bleeders and step on the brake or open one of the ones it didn't shut the fluid off to and pump it and close the bleeder and then slam the pedel to the floor and about 25% of the time it resets. My brother helped me and we finally got it i think. I went for a ride around the block and they worked great but it was raining and brakes are always touchy then so we'll see on a nice dry day.
