Bring your car, no excuses and we are on, heads up, off the tree car to car. Only stipulation is tires must be the same. Ie no slicks to street tires. You've got 5 months to prepare.

Eric, I know my car is lighter. I have seen you car and studied if even before it was yours. I aslo have seen it in the shop.. yours is a GT, you have a good 100 lbs of excess plastic skirts, and that huge wing ( I know its a Steeda Aluminum but it still has to weigh 20 lbs or so..)

Not to mention I have some fiberglass in the works :)

I am sure My stang will weigh under 2800 lbs..

And I can and I WILL launch as hard.. trust me, we are on the same team here remember :)

But with no power from my stock 302, I am sure you will overtake me before the 1/8 mile . WAIT you have a stock 302 also!!

1 spot = 1 car length (approximately 15 feet)
the hit = whoever has the hit leaves first, the race doesn't start until the person with the hit moves. The hit is also known as the move, the shake, the smack, etc.

Also, the wing is fiberglass/carbon fiber and weighs 6lbs which is quite a bit less than a stock GT wing which weighs about 18 lbs. Ground effects all toghether weigh 36lbs.

Your stock 302 is carbureted and you say your car will be lighter, so I think Eric should get some spots:D:

It is alot harder to get your car under 2800 than you think. When I had my 83 I had everything taken out of it that didn't help performance, including the radio and speakers and the scale still said 3000. Don't ask me how as the early cars were suppose to be 28-2900 from the factory. The scale doesn't lie though. I hope you have ALOT of fiberglass going into that thing.

My full framed Blazer weighs 2950 and I didn't do anything special to it for weight reduction. Removed interior,removed inner fenders,removed climate controls, aluminum radiator,heads,waterpump,intake.. I am still using some old school 60's era mags, and I installed a heavy ass 9"

You can get the hit if you start behind. In most cases getting the hit gives you more than a 1 car spot.

So how much did it weigh before you took all of that stuff out? 3400? so all of that was a 500lb loss? Makes the vehicle extremely loud and annoying to drive on the street, especially for long distances. If that is what you want fine, but having one of those cars already I have decided that comfort and power is where it is at, thus my current ride. Your statements just go to show what I am talking about. It takes lot to get a vehicle that low in weight. Dan has to remember he will be adding weight with a roll bar and subframe connectors, among other things.
