Bump the timing a few degrees

Disconnect the knock sensor

Bypass BCS with a manual boost valve like a Gillis manual valve (http://www.boostvalve.com/pricelist.html)

or bypass it all together :hehe: but you must use extreme caution doing it on the 5 speed cars. The wastegates in the 5 speed cars have a lighter spring in the wastegate letting them boost 18-22lbs making it easy to over boost the car. It won't last long like that without other mods. Find a fitting for the vacuum line that somewhat restricts it. I have found the black and green one way valves found on most any cars EVAP and EGR vacuum lines to give you anywhere from 7-14lbs of constant boost depending on their size. (insert disclaimer here :D )

If you want the IHI turbo to last keep the boost respectable. 14 to 15lbs is a safe area to be on an otherwise stock coupe.

After you've done those first three. Get a front mount, gut and flip the upper intake, and knife edge the lower.

my old 88 turbo coupe was a blast, 101k miles, front mounted the stock cooler, disconnected the kock sensor, boost at 18 psi, 2.5 dp y pipes to 2.5 inch duals out the back, trnk gutted, 2.0 on mccreary dirt tires, best i got out of it like that was 14.7 with a 2.0 60 foot launching at 4700 and shiftin at 5200, if your ride control works flip the switch to auto itwill help launch harder ( 2.2 on firm and 2.0 on auto) i learned that tip from natc. org

Flipping would require(I think on a TC) the alternator to be moved. I would personally just buy a new manual boost controller, and leave it at that. If more is needed spend some money on exhaust. 3inch to dual 2.5 gets about 45hp at the wheels on the TF's.

Exhaust sure made an improvement on my current coupe.
