6al vs. digital six for a 347 combo with a brake and nitrous? Any benefits too either of these?

dig6 already has the retard built in! no chips for that or the rev limiter also start retard/great for nos not sure about the brake thought im sure you could find out from the how to link it all in together! iv had them both and like the dig6 alot!but the 6al is good also just have to buy extra stuff to be the same in the end it will cost more so ! just mi 2cents

MSD's have been known to fail.

Crane and Mallory are other choices.

MSD`s Digital 6 had some problems at first but they are good now.

I've had two new Digital 6 boxes that were junk. I've heard many others with the same problems. Maybe they have fixed the issues. The issues I had were about 5 years ago.

So 6al then or just forget MSD altogether, I though MSD was like the best o' the best as far as ignition

Earlier this summer I installed a digital6 for a guy and the distributor input would not fire the box, only the points lead would. Got it exchanged and was told, "oh they've had some problems with that box"............Next one worked ok.

I have a Crane HI-6s box and coil in my car. 5yrs no problems......But it does only include a rev limiter, no start retard......can be added though.

MSD is the best of the best except when it comes to the digital 6. You will be fine with a 6AL and a timing retard for the nitrous.

I've not had problems with my MSD 6AL, except for the rev limiter acts up from time to time. The Crane HI-6S in my daily driven truck has worked flawlessly for over 5 years.

I have had a digital 6 in my car for 6 years now and no problems, i hate to switch to a digital 7 because this box has worked so good for so long.
