My seat belts have expired recently. If I come down to GLD this fall am I going to need to replace them?
How many passes can a person expect to get in during the typical "fun racing" day?

Thanks, Brian

Yes you will need to replace them. Insurance issues will guarantee it.

No idea on the number of passes though.

There checking belts at the Grove?????????????? Since when has that started. Everytime I went there the TEC. never looked at anything just gave you a number and walked away grumbling.

Probably since they switch to NHRA rules from IHRA.

Um, i was there a couple weeks ago and can comfirm the brief look at the car, i didn't have to pop my hood or anything, same with the zo6 vette in front of me. I didn't even have to wear a helmet that night! I'm not that stupid though.

I'm betting for a car like Blue66's they'll look it over. I dont think they care much about 13 second cars like they would a 10 second car.

12 second car......Still, I could have had a whole shit of nitrous, or a huge turbo and they never would have known it.

I don't know if it's still the same, but when I went to a fun day at the Grove I couldv'e worn my motor out. I couldv'e put 40 runs on that day I bet! It was awesome! I 'spose it matters on the car count I'd guess. Have fun! Besides, you don't need the practice anyway after all the rounds you went last Sunday! Nice job!

exactly, i made 14 passes that night, and could have easily made 30 total if i wanted to beat my poor clutch out. I had to keep stopping so it could cool down, that and i was getting tired, lol.

Thats' good to hear.....I would like to do a little tuning, and be able to get a good amount of passes in a reasonable amount of time.
If you look at your slip you probably know what I am after. :deal:
That was fun running you in the time run "heads up".
Thanks, on going the rounds......Had a little luck on my side for once :hello:

I have to agree with this guy. I have only been to the Grove 3 times this year.(all within the last 3 weeks) and the car was only looked at once. That was the 1st time. The guy had me pop my hood & asked(didn't look) if I have a driveshaft loop(I did). He did ACTUALLY looked at my belts(which were exspired). It was my 1st time out so I just told him I was only going to run low 13's anyways so it's not a big deal. He said ok. I ended up running a 12.2 in reality. I was down there last Friday and Saturday and they didn't look at anything. At that time I even had replaced my belts so I was legit & they didn't even look. I ended up running a 10.9 on Saturday and they didn't even tell me I needed a fire jacket. I will be getting one of coarse very soon just for safety sake, but they probably wouldn't even say anything. I think they are all about the car count IMHO. If they start being more strict they won't get as many cars.

Not perfect, but still pretty decent.
